HOW IT BEGAN

Forest Run Creative was born of the necessity for quality, durable leather goods. Our sister company, Canine Training Systems, is an instructional video production company that specializes in working dog training videos, equipment and accessories. When our longtime leather craftsman retired in 2017, we searched high and low for someone else to produce collars, lines and leads to our standards, without success. Crooked stitching, unfinished edges and very low quality fasteners on incorrectly selected leather, was commonplace. This lead to us purchasing some basic tools to produce products we would want to use, all made with traditional methods, built to last from the highest quality leathers. A few leashes turned into wallets, key chains, cord wraps and eventually tote bags, crossbody bags and more. 

Video production and leathercraft share a similar process- design, preparation, creation, rough-cut, final product then finishing. Our existing workflow featuring attention to detail and precision of craft has earned us over 50 video production awards for script writing, videography and motion graphics. The attention to detail in our leather work is no different. The result of these efforts is what you’ll find on our site, a variety of unique Forest Run branded products, all handmade, heirloom quality, designed to fit your lifestyle in both function and aesthetic. As we say, a Forest Run product wears in, not out.
